When using Excel integration with Castaway, there may be instances where you need to rename your Excel spreadsheet after it has already been used in the integration. In such cases, it's essential to ensure that all previously mapped accounts are retained, even after the spreadsheet has been renamed. This article will guide you through the process of keeping your mappings intact while updating your file name, ensuring seamless continuity in your Castaway integration.

Here are the steps you need to take to refresh the Excel integration template name:

  1. In the External Sources screen, select the spreadsheet you wish to update from the drop-down menu under Connect to Your Source.

  2. Click on Refresh Data and navigate to where you’ve saved the renamed template.

  3. Upon clicking Open, a pop-up message will appear indicating that the Excel document you selected has a different name from the current integration file.

  4. You will then be prompted with the following options:

Would you like to update the integration name or create a new integration with this file?

     5. Select the Update Integration Name option. This will ensure that your mappings are retained, and the spreadsheet name is updated in the mapping screen.

Important Note

If you select Add New Integration, Castaway will treat the spreadsheet as a new integration, and none of the previous mappings will be retained.

TIP!

If you accidentally selected Add New Integration when your intention was simply to update the mapping name, don’t panic! You can easily fix this by following these steps:

  1. Select the integration with updated name from the drop-down menu in Connect to Your Source and click Remove. This will delete the unmapped integration source.
  2.  Now, select the Excel source with the old original name from the drop-down menu and repeat the steps 1 to 5 above to update your excel integration template name.
