Transferring Projects from One Organisation to Another

There are times when an Organisation will want to transfer one or more files from their Organisation ownership to the ownership of another Organisation. Situations include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. A client moves from one accountant to another
2. A client wishes to take ownership of their own file/s
3. A business user is transferring their file to an accountant

Similarly, there are times when an Organisation will want to transfer ALL files from their ownership to another Organisation. Situations include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. An accounting firm or business is merged with another or de-merged 
2. An accounting firm or business is shutting down, but the project files are required elsewhere

There are necessary and strict considerations in both circumstances.

Transferring whole Organisation

1. Both transferer and transferee need to provide instructions to us in writing
2. If not already, the transferee must subscribe to Castaway Cloud, subscribing with enough project bandwidth to accept all of the files the transferer is transferring
3. Our team will organise for all of the files to be transferred to the new Organisation
4. The transferer may then proceed to cancel the original  transferer's account.

Do not cancel before the transfer of projects is confirmed because cancelling  a Castaway Cloud subscription will delete all files and they will be unrecoverable

Transferring one or more Projects (Files)

1. Both transferer and transferee need to provide instructions to us in writing. This includes specific project names and, preferably, a screenshot of the projects to be transferred
2. Our team need to be advised in writing that the mutual client agrees the transfer and Professional Clearance is in place
3. If not already, the transferee needs to be a Castaway Cloud subscriber with enough spare project space to accept the transferred files
4. Our team will transfer the project files and advise when this is completed.

Please note that all transfer matters are treated with strict confidentiality. We do appreciate the sensitive nature of these situations.

There is no cost for either process, but the steps must be followed. We will not action these requests without correct permissions and instructions in writing to [e-mail] (Attention: COO).
