Overview
The Element Group screen displays all elements in your Project's chart of accounts (CoA) in one place, including Inbuilt Elements such as GST, Income Tax and Balance Sheet elements. It is used for viewing and editing element settings only, forecast data entry is not done here.
Go to Forecast > Element Settings > Element Group (blue button).
How It Works
The Element Group screen is made up of three areas:
| Area | Function |
|---|---|
| Left Panel | Lists all element groups (Sales, Costs, Inventory, Bank, etc...) - Click a group to view its elements in the main screen. |
| Main Screen | Displays elements as hyperlinks. Click an element to open, edit or review its settings. |
| Top Right Menu | Toggle settings categories on or off, to focus on the specific settings you need. Categories displayed in dark blue are currently visible. |
Once you have reviewed or edited an element, you can click the back arrow to return to the chart of accounts, where forecast data can be entered via the Element Data Entry screen.
Adjusting Element Settings from the Element Group Screen
- In the left panel, click the element group containing the element you wish to adjust.
- In the main screen, locate the element and click its hyperlink to open it.
- Review and edit the element's configuration as required. Settings available will vary depending on the element type.
- Click Save to lock in your changes.
Entering Forecast Data
The Element Group screen is for settings only. Forecast data is entered separately via one of the following:
- Individually through the chart of accounts: Manual entry in Castaway Elements
- Using the Bulk Upload feature via Uploading Forecast Data Template
