Issue Scope

Some users have reported a 'Your connection is not private' error message when trying to access the Castaway Cloud website. 




There can be a number of reasons this issue will arise:

  1. There may be a loading issue in your browser
  2. You may be using a public network or an unsecured connection
  3. Your browser may not be up to date
  4. It may be an issue with your cookies and cache
  5. Sometimes VPNs and Antivirus software conflict or override network settings, including SSL certificates and connections to specific websites
  6. Your browser specifically is having trouble with the website


To troubleshoot this, try the following:

  1. Reload the page or close your browser then reopen the page
  2. Ensure you have a robust private connection to the internet
  3. Your browser will indicate if your browser needs to be updated. Follow the prompts in the top right of the window. Please note you will most likely need to restart the browser to apply these updates
  4. When you load a web page, your browser will store temporary data in a 'cache' to help it load faster but it can become cluttered over time. Clearing your Cookies and Cache, then reloading the page helps the browser recognise a "clean" connection
  5. Check your anti-virus/ firewall software to make sure our website has not been blocked. If you have an IT person/team, you may need to consult with them to either temporarily unblock our website or turn off their SSL scan
  6. Try loading the page in incognito mode or in another browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari
