Getting the most out of your KPI Report requires some initial setup of the Target, Alert and Range parameters of each KPI. These will impact how your KPI is displayed on the main report page, and in turn how they appear in your other publishing options. The impact of each is as follows:

  • Targets - What your KPIs are being reported against
  • Alerts - A notification when a KPI value exceeds a specified limit
  • Ranges - The upper and lower tolerances in your KPI reporting

The KPI Manager

The KPI Manager is where you create, and manage the reporting of, all your KPIs. The Manager can be accessed by clicking on the Setup tab on the KPI page. The main KPI settings:

  • Type - Inbuilt or Custom KPI type (Formula / Account)
  • Favourable - Define the positive outcome
  • Target - Set the target data source
  • Total Type - Define how quarterly and annual periods will treat your data in reports
  • Range Type - Set your range type
  • Alert - Toggle on alerts

Targets

Nominating your target data lets you choose between your budget, forecast and manually entered data. Choose from the following two settings:

Enter Data - compare against manually entered data

Comparative - refers to your selection in the 'Compare to' drop down on the KPI manager toolbar

Upload Target Data Template (UTDT)

Target, Range and Alert data can be reviewed, edited and reimported through the Upload Target Data Template.

Alerts

Alerts are designed to bring critical outcomes to your attention at a glance. To setup an Alert:

  1. Select Enter Data to activate an alert row
  2. Input your alert data for each month. If the value is unchanging, you can right click on the value and select from the 'Fill' options
  3. Save your changes
