Overview
Castaway integrates with Xero to allow you to both register for a Castaway account and log in using your Xero credentials. This article covers both processes:
- Signing up for the first time via the Xero App Store
- Signing in to Castaway using your Xero account on subsequent visits.
Signing Up via the Xero App Store
Step 1: Sign Up and Register
- From the Xero App Store, click Get This App
- Sign in to your Xero account using your registered email address, password and 2FA security code
- You will be redirected to the Castaway registration screen
- Confirm your details, set up 2FA if required (optional but strongly recommended) and click Sign Up
- A Castaway confirmation screen will appear
Step 2: Confirm your New Account
- Check your email inbox for a confirmation email from Castaway
- Open the email and click Confirm My Account
- You will be directed to a confirmation page inside Castaway
Step 3: Sign in to Castaway with your Xero Credentials
- Click Login to go to the Castaway login screen
- Click Sign In with Xero
- If you are currently logged in to Xero you will be taken directly to the Castaway Projects screen. If not, the Xero login screen will appear - enter your credentials, complete the 2FA step and you will be taken to the Castaway Projects screen.
Step 4: Select a Plan
- Once signed in, you will need to select a subscription Plan to activate your account: Cloud Pricing

Signing In with Xero
For subsequent visits, the Sign In with Xero button allows you to log in to Castaway Cloud using your Xero credentials without needing a separate Castaway password.
- From the Castaway login page, click Sign In with Xero.
- Enter your Xero login credentials as normal.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app when prompted by Xero. For more information about Xero's multi-factor authentication, refer to: Xero's MFA Article
Both Xero and Castaway Cloud sessions are valid for up to 24 hours. We recommend signing out of both platforms when you have finished working.
- When creating a new Project, you can link Castaway to your Xero files directly from the project setup screen.
- Confirm the Xero file you would like to use and proceed to work on your file as normal.
