You can publish your KPIs in several ways, even bringing them into other report types available on Castaway. In this article we will cover every method, including:

  • Viewing your KPIs on screen
  • Print KPI table to PDF
  • Export KPI table to Excel
  • KPI widgets in Dashboards
  • KPI Data in Storyboards

Viewing your KPIs on screen

The live view of the main KPI page in Castaway is the best way to assess the immediate outcomes of your KPI setup. Customise your view of this page by changing:

  • Changing the period in question
  • Toggling the MTH / QTR / YR settings to show or hide these options

Each Month, Quarter, Year table is divided into 4 columns:

  • Period - your data
  • Target - budget / forecast data, or a defined target available in KPI Settings
  • Result - arrow based indicator, with adjustable thresholds through KPI Settings
  • Trend vs Prev - variance analysis against same period 1 year prior

Assessing the business' performance against expectation and targets, at a glance, has never been easier with the inclusion of Targets and Result Arrows.

Print your KPI table to PDF and Excel

  1. Whatever you see on screen will be what your exported KPI report will display.
  2. Go to the Setup tab to hide and show any KPIs by toggling their visibility under the ‘Visible’ column. You must click ‘Save KPIs’ to lock in your changes.
  3. Choose the period you want to export by adjusting the month at the top of the report.
  4. Determine which periods you want displayed by toggling the MTH / QTR / YR settings.
  5. Export your KPI report by clicking the printer icon for a PDF report, or the sheet icon for an excel report. Both export types are formatted, as view inside Castaway Cloud.

KPIs data in Dashboards

Dashboards are a powerful means to bring your data to life and tell a story. KPI tables are designed to integrate neatly and flexibly into your Custom Dashboards through the widget system in Castaway.

  1. Once you have created your Custom Dashboard, drag in a widget from the left-hand Board Builder panel if starting from a blank template. Click the KPI symbol on the widget board to open the KPI Widget panel.
  2. On the widget panel there are number of options to adjust under the Display and Style tabs including:
    • Show or hide individual KPIs or whole KPI tables with the click of the toggle
    • Show or hide the Month, Quarter, and Year options as they appear on the main KPI summary page
    • Choose the Period type to either follow the Dashboard’s dynamic slider at the top of the page, or to display a specific month
    • Show or hide a title for the KPI widget that can be renamed
