Overview
The Castaway integration with MYOB Business is a one-way integration that lets Castaway import your MYOB chart of accounts and trial balance reports. From there, you can build or update your Castaway chart of accounts and also import Actuals data each month to keep your forecast up to date.
Who can use the MYOB integration?
Any Castaway User with full access can use the MYOB integration. Guests who have been invited to Castaway files with Read Only access cannot.
Connecting to your MYOB File
To start the connection, go to Forecast > External Sources and click the MYOB logo. You can also access this when creating a new Project by clicking the MYOB logo from the integration options screen. Then, there are either 1 or 2 steps:
Step 1: Sign in to myMYOB (Sometimes)

If you are not already logged in to myMYOB, you will see a screen like this. Enter your myMYOB email address and password to proceed. Note that this screen may not appear if you have recently accessed MYOB either directly or through the Castaway integration

After signing in, Castaway will show the MYOB Organisations screen. Click once on the MYOB file you wish to connect to:
- BEFORE YOU CLICK IMPORT, set the Data Start Month and the number of data months to load. For further guidance, refer to Importing More than 24 Months via Integrations
- Click Import
Step 2: Sign in to the MYOB file (Always)
A different MYOB popup will appear asking you to sign in to your file.
NOTE: the Username and Password for the MYOB file is typically different to the email and password for your myMYOB account. In fact, many MYOB files do not have separate password protection. As a guide:
If the file IS password protected, enter the User name and Password for the file, then click OK
If the file IS NOT password protected, you can try 2 options:
- enter ADMIN as the User name, leave Password blank, then click OK
... or ... - leave both the User name and Password blank, then click OK
Updating your MYOB Data
Once your file is connected, you can refresh your MYOB data at any time to pull in the latest values from MYOB. To refresh, go to Forecast > External Sources and click Refresh Data. This will bring the latest values into the mapping screen for you to review before importing.

Once your file is connected, click Map to begin mapping your MYOB accounts to the Castaway chart of accounts. Click and drag accounts across to build your chart of accounts.
